Welcome to the 2016 Highlands East Plein Air Arts Festival. Please note our winner of the 2015 Exhibition Prize was Angela St. Jean, a new artist to our festival. Congratulations Angela! Her work is featured throughout the site and will be on this year’s brochure.
Thank you to all our participants and sponsors of the 2015 festival, it was great fun and the work done was extremely impressive! We also had oodles more people out this past year and we thank them and the community for their support.
This four day festival is all about painting outdoors. Artists are encouraged to look at our sites and find those that appeal to them. Spend Thursday through Saturday painting, come to our participant-only party Saturday night and then hang your work in the exhibition & sale on Sunday Sept. 11, 12-4pm at the Lloyd Watson Centre in Wilberforce. If you are an artist please see the Registration & Contact page for more details and sign up!
NEW! This year we are adding new things:
From here on in students will be charged the half price fee of $50 to participate in the event.
If you are a returning participant to the festival and bring a friend, you will each receive a 10% reduction in the fee. (ie. two people for $180)
Finally, if you sign up to the event before March 1st you will be charged the early sign up rate of $90.
Thank you to our ongoing partner the Rails End Gallery & Arts Centre in Haliburton where this June 2016 is plein air month! Check out our Facebook page for details on events and teaching.
